Join us for the first NREN Summit: Strengthening Connections in Times of Change

(Ottawa, November 23, 2020) After a year that saw Canada’s research and education communities face tremendous challenges and disruption, it’s time to reflect and acknowledge the Canadian response: one that brought people together, pushed the boundaries of the possible and enabled communities to meet challenges we couldn’t have imagined just a few short months ago.
The NREN Summit is focused on reminding ourselves how innovative and determined Canadians have leveraged Canada’s digital infrastructure ecosystem to support mission-critical activities: education, research and securing Canada’s critical data and services. We’ve brought together a range of speakers to share examples of how we’ve evolved and even thrived, with a laser focus on goals and a uniquely Canadian determination.
From harnessing a pan-Canadian COVID-19 research community to keeping up with new cybersecurity challenges, from connecting students in Canada’s most remote regions to developing collaborative solutions on the fly, our speakers will share both the challenges and successes faced by Canada’s research and education communities.
We’ve made it easy to participate, with a Zoom interface and an opportunity to engage with speakers and colleagues over three afternoons The event is crafted specifically for our community of research and education decision-makers, researchers, research administrators, higher education CIOs, IT team members, security professionals, government funders, not-for-profit and private sector organizations serving R&E communities. You’ll want to join in the celebration and be inspired and energized by the stories and triumphs of your fellow Canadians.
