“Most of society believes that farmers are fairly simple and uneducated but it’s quite the opposite,” says Rick Willemse, President of Yellow Gold Farms. “The most progressive farmers I know are very highly educated. We take doing what we do very seriously.” Alluding to an innovative solution to precision agriculture he was developing with years of yield data, it didn’t take much for Rick to connect with Mike Duncan, Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada Research Chair, Niagara College, to complete the project.
